Explore the beautiful natural surrounds at the foot of the Tsitsikamma Mountains on horseback – riding through fynbos, vineyards, indigenous forest and farmland to surrounding attractions including wine farms, animal sanctuaries and a picnic at the magnificent Kurland Estate. Situated 19km East of Plettenberg Bay, easily accessible from the N2, Hog Hollow Horse Trails caters for all level of riders and weights of up to 120kg on a herd of 33 rescue horses. We use comfortable featherweight endurance saddles with toe cages for safety. Each rider is assessed, kitted with riding hat and chaps, allocated a horse according to their ability and required to sign an indemnity. Our guides and horses are highly trained in order to accommodate different levels of riders at a pace that is fun yet safe. Groups of up to 8 riders are accompanied by two guides. We operate 365 days a year.
All level of riders are welcome, and all ages are welcome. Maximum weight of 120kg applies. We have had from 3-year-olds to 85-year-olds on our trails!! Upon arrival, a short assessment is made to identify the right horse and safe riding gear for each rider.
